You know I'm really not your friend. I don't like you. I don't care what you say. I don't care what you do. You know I'm really not your friend. I don't like you. I don't care how you do it. I don't care who it's to. I'm not your friend.

I’m grumpy in the morning, Tired at night. I don’t got no answers. Neither do you. Where are you? You’re not here. I’m grumpy in the morning, Happy at night. I’m tired of growing my hair out. It doesn’t seem to help. Where are you? You’re not here. I’m grumpy in the morning, Tired at night. I don’t got no answers. Neither do you. Where are you? You’re not here. I’m grumpy in the morning and you’re still not here.

Today is the day you rise up, Today is the day you release, Today is the day you find peace, Today is the day you give back. Today is the day we come out, Today is the day you show up, Today is the day you let go, Today is the day we move on.

I saw you for the first time after so many years. The living dead is what I thought. Like a corpse, you appeared. Corpse on the bed, Elephant in the room. Barely clothed or fed, But adorned in jewels.

Life is how I go back to the people. If you want to have time, talk to the people.
64.
We have. Now there's no blood on our hands, But we give you weapons and we take all our your lands. To be sure that we have a leg to stand. To be sure that you will meet all our demands. and we know you will. Not likely that you'll give anything back. But, sure, if you want to, you can look forward to attack. To be sure that you can't defeat us all. To be sure that you certainly will fall. And you will. We know you will. And soon, you'll surrender to us.

They charged me with murder. 25 years. No parole. No escape. But I didn't do it, no I didn't do it. I was framed. They charged me with murder. Behind bars. With intent, No delay. I can't see a way, No, I can't see a way. No return.

He stood at the gates and waited for you. He nearly was the only one. This prophet is the only one. He stood at the gates and listened to you. You nearly loved the only one. This prophet is the only one. When will you listen? When will you learn? When will you learn he is the only one? He bowed at your feet while you held your breath. This prophet is the only one. He held your hand while you looked around. This prophet is the only one. When will you listen? When will you learn? He is the only one.

Thrive 03:03
Steel yourself 'cause here it comes. You don't have a way to live. You don't have a cent to give. You don't have any way to survive, but yet you thrive. You walked thru the open door, not a single thought to where you were. You challenged everyone before they even said a word. You held us all in open court, your opinion was the judge. You told us where we could all go and quickly walked away. You told a lie, you told the truth, you tried to parse your words. You split us up, you shut us up, you overcame each verb. You thought you had the upperhand, but you only had a lie, but yet you thrive.
81.
Can you hear a thousand tiny footsteps coming near, coming for you? Can you feel their breath on your neck? They smell you. They're just around the corner waiting for you. Coming for you. You were a fool to think you could escape.

Ultimately 04:09
You better hold on. You wanted it, you got it. You took it from me. You're a holy terror, You got holy fire, You are wholly unholy, Filled with desire. I have nothing left You took my best and threw it on the fire to die. Ultimately, I was never going to take you back. At least that's what you knew. But, there is no war now. You got a loaded mouth, It's filled with lies. You're sending out all your spies. You can't try to trust, It's too easy to kill. You shouldn't see us as a total loss. We're a total loss.
88.
You are so good, you are a super-shopper. You have all the love in the world. Slow down Margaret, You're going way too fast. We've only got one thing left. You're going way too fast. Slow down Margaret. You're going way too fast. We've only got one minute left You're going way too fast. You've got to slow down Margaret.
89.
Get Together 03:07
Hold on to your hat, cause here we go. I hope you're ready for the show. You know you're my friend and I love you. We've got to get together too.
90.
91.
When you want to catch a dream by the tail, You want to wait and see where it leads. Down they go, down the stairs, out the door, thru the roof, thru the floor
92.
You don't want to wake up yet, You don't know what you might find.
93.
Where is my money?
94.
95.
I caught you walking in the streets last night, In the shadows, just out of sight. I think I followed you home, I don't know but I think I followed you home. Watched you, Thru the window, While you were getting ready for bed. That's all that happened this time.

She said "I love you."

about

I started this project on December 21, 2012 - the day that many people thought was going to be the End of the World. Instead, it was the beginning of a New Age. My initial goal was to create/post a piece of music on my blog every day as long as I could. I was hoping to make it a week. Well, a week turned into two, into three, into a month, turned into the first 100 days.

I had quite a backlog initially, but cleared a lot of that out in about the first 45-50 days. There were some new pieces sprinkled in there, along with tidbits that I hadn't really "put out" there on the web. A kind of hodge-podge. As the collection started to grow I realized that maybe I should make it into a product that people could easily download, rather than having to go day-by-day and have 100 separate downloads. You now have the result.

The reason there are only 98 songs here instead of 100 is because of two exceptions. The first day is a cover of Lou Reed's "New Age", which I love. Rather than figure out how to pay him royalties I've left it as a free track on Soundcloud and you can go grab it at any time. The second is a cover of "Locked Out of Heaven" by Bruno Marrs. It's also on Soundcloud and is free to download. Please do and enjoy.

I hope that this musical offering will stretch your ears, bring you joy, and leave you in a good place.

You can hear new works every day at my blog: reasontorecord.blogspot.com

Please come back again for 200 days once we get there.
